  • Acrylic Nails
Acrylics are the most common form of nail enhancement in the salon. They are strong and druable, and provide a nice shape to the nail, especially for clients who have an abnormal shape to their nails.  Acrylics are applied using a sable brush with liquid and powder.  They can be applied over the natural nail, or over any plastic tip.  They harden on their own in just a few minutes.  Once the acrylic is dry, the nails are shaped, filed, buffed and cleaned.  The nails are now ready to be finished with a base coat, client's choice of polish, and a clear top coat.  the end result is longer, stronger, and more beautiful nails.

  • Diamond Dusting
Dusting is a fairly new technique in the nail industry.  It started out as an alternative to acrylic nails because of allergic reactions to chemicals used in acrylic nails.  Now it is an alternative to all artificial nails.  The process begins with roughing of the nail bed.  This product can be applied to the natural nail or used with an artificial tip for extending the length of the nail.  Then an application of resin (glue) is applied to the nail and while the resin is wet the nail is dipped into fine acrylic powder which adheres to the resin.  Next another top coat of resin is applied and an activator spray is misted over the resin which sets the resin to a dry, hard finish.  File and shape, then buff to shine, and scrub to finalize for polishing.

  • Manicure
These are the steps in giving a professional manicure.  Remove any old nail polish and then shape the nails.  Next loosen and clean away the cuticles, working one hand at a time.  After this give each hand and arm a massage.  Then clean under the free edge of the nail.  Cleanse the nails again, using a nail brush and dry thoroughly.  If desired, polish using a base coat, two coats of polish, and a top coat.  Finally place hands under a dryer/fan to help polish dry.  Warm paraffin wax is available upon request.

  • Pedicures
Our #1 priority at Nails, Etc. has and always will be CLEANLINESS! We have chosen to use individual pedicure spas instead of the spa pedicure chairs because the individual spas are so much easier to keep meticulously clean.

Our Pedicures begin with basics of removing polish, clipping and shaping the toenails, pushing back and cleaning up the cuticle line. Then the relaxation begins. We scrub your feet with fragrant salt or sugar foot scrubs; remove dry, dead skin with sloughing lotions, pumice stones and/or foot files (we do not use “credo” blades as they are dangerous, as well as against the law). We then give you a relaxing massage from foot to knee with luxurious lotions that smell and feel great. We finish the pedicure off with a polish of your choice and we don’t charge extra for a French manicure on toes or fingers!

Call us today and book your safe, relaxing pedicure with one of the Nails, Etc. professionals. We promise you won’t regret or forget it!

  • Pink & White Acrylics/Solarnail
Solarnail is the name of the product used on pink and white.  There are other products that can be used but Solarnail is the most durable.  Pink and white acrylic nails are done with pink and white colored acrylic powder finished off with a buffed high gloss shine.  Depending on the color of powder used you can have the bright French look or the more subtle American look.  There is no need for a French nail polish, although you can still polish your nails with a colored nail lacquer.

  • Sculptured Nails
Sculptured nails are acrylic nails which have been created on "forms" made of paper, metal, or plastic, extending the length of the nails.  In this process, acrylic is applied to your natural nails, and the material is lengthened and sculpted over small pieces of metal or foil.  As the natural nail grows out, your nail techician will fill in the base and file down the artificial tip.  Eventually, you will end up with just the overlay on your natural nail.

  • Silk Wraps
The proper applicaton of silk wraps requires several steps which can be applied to either a nail tip, or a natural nail.  The first step is to rough up the nail so that the product adheres to the surface.  A thin coat of clear resin (glue) is applied to the whole nail making sure to avoid the cuticle area in order to reduce lifting.  Activator is then applied to set the resin.  Two layers of silk wraps are then laid on the nail.  The first layer covers the nail, and the second layer is placed over stress points for strength.  After trimming excess for nail shape, two more layers of resin and activator are applied.  File and shape, then drill around the cuticle area for smooth appearance, and to eliminate lifting.  Buff, wash, and polish!

FYI

“Solar Nail(s)” is a product, NOT a procedure. “Solar Nail” is an acrylic nail line of powders and liquids. Some discount salons have used “Solar Nail” as a term for “pink & whites,” which is a procedure where white powder is used on the tip of the nail and pink powder in the back so that the nail looks like a French manicure without any polish. “Solar Nail” is a very good product, but even if we’re not using “Solar Nail” in particular, all of Nails, Etc. technicians use only the top of the line and safe products for our clients. We know our products are safe because we wear them ourselves!
